Merchant Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026
This policy explains the responsibilities of independent merchants that create and operate stores using Brq.
1Merchant identity and account
- Provide accurate owner, business, store, and contact information.
- Protect account credentials and promptly report unauthorized access.
- Use connected provider accounts that the merchant is authorized to control.
- Respond to reasonable verification or compliance requests.
2Store information
- Describe products, prices, availability, and material restrictions accurately.
- Publish reliable contact, delivery, cancellation, return, and refund information.
- Do not create misleading urgency, testimonials, discounts, or performance claims.
- Respect intellectual-property, consumer, advertising, and privacy rights.
3Orders and customer service
- The merchant is the seller for purchases from their independent store.
- The merchant is responsible for fulfilment, support, returns, and store-order refunds.
- Order and payment records must not be manipulated to mislead customers or providers.
- Customer complaints and disputes should be handled promptly and fairly.
4Payments and providers
The merchant contracts directly with their connected payment provider. Brq supplies software integration only and does not hold or settle the proceeds of independent store sales. Provider fees, reserves, chargebacks, settlement timing, and account restrictions are governed by the provider.
5Compliance and enforcement
The merchant must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy, Prohibited Businesses Policy, applicable law, and connected-provider rules. Brq may restrict or terminate stores that create legal, security, fraud, or customer-harm risks.
